Alison Fisher
Head of International Trade
export@liverpoolchamber.org.uk
The department works closely with Chambers of Commerce locally and has formed a working partnership called Chambers of Commerce on Merseyside in International Trade (COMIT). It organises seminars and workshops and overseas trade delegations for local members.
Regionally, the department works with Manchester Chamber especially with initiatives such as the North West Market Visit programme, funded by UK Trade and Investment. Another programme is the British American Business Council, a membership organisation for companies who trade with the States.
Nationally the Chamber works closely with many Chambers of Commerce. Alison is a member of the newly formed British Chambers of Commerce International Trade Forum.
Alison has led and managed over 40 overseas trade delegations, some supported by the British Government (UK Trade and Investment) and some by European funding or private sponsorship. Destination countries have included Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, UAE, USA and Venezuela.
Since joining the Chamber, Alison has worked in many departments of the organisation including services, administration and HR. She was involved in setting up Trident Training, but decided to develop a career in international trade some 20 years ago. At this time the Chamber's only involvement in international trade was export documentation and the occasional overseas trade mission. |
