The Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority are seeking to recruit talented and experienced individuals to join a new team. Local Energy North West is a new programme that will support organisations across the North West of England to identify, develop and implement energy projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to contribute to the scaling up of clean energy investment in the North West.

Organisations across the region have articulated an interest in implementing energy saving and energy generation projects, but often lack the expertise to move projects from the drawing board to an investment decision. Local Energy North West will work in collaboration with businesses, public-sector institutions and communities to develop the case for their projects, sharing knowledge of good practice to duplicate success. The team will have a commercial focus, working flexibly with organisations to help them attract private, public and community finance to enable the delivery of schemes.

As a member of the Local Energy North West Team, the Energy Project Development Lead will be the first point of contact and lead engagement with energy project teams across the North West of England.

The Project Development Lead will work with organisations to identify investment opportunities and define an offer of support so as to enable selected projects to bring forward sound business cases for investment. The post holder will apply robust technical and economic appraisal methods to the assessment of schemes, developing bespoke approaches where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the technical appraisal of energy technologies and their integration into buildings and energy networks. They will be well versed in energy management good practice, ideally with relevant qualifications and experience of energy audits. The Project Development Lead will be adept at client relationship management and building a network of industry contacts. The candidate will have supported the successful delivery of projects within the renewable energy or related sectors, and understand the UK energy sector including regulatory environments and support mechanisms.
