Kevin Griffiths
Head of Commercial Services

Kevin is head of the Commercial Services
division of Liverpool Chamber. This includes the various projects
run by the Chamber, such as Business Crime Direct, MerseyBroadband
and COMPETE, as well as the Retail services.
Before joining the chamber, Kevin has worked as a Project Development
Manager at Government Office Northwest. There he was a member of
a small management team tasked with managing a £2 billion
European-funded programme to lift the economy of Merseyside.
This involved creating programmes throughout Merseyside that developed
and instigated strategies for business start up, mentoring, innovation,
and best practice. He also instigated customer service standards,
advised a number of European countries on European funding and
facilitated the funding of over 3000 capital and social projects.
He managed a number of multi-million pound projects and formed
Merseyside Entrepreneur Think, which resulted in the Merseyside
Entrepreneur Commission.
Kevin has always lived on Merseyside. He started his working life
in accountancy, auditing some of the largest companies in the area.
He then moved into the manufacturing industry and spent some time
in quality control.
He started his sales career in plant hire. He eventually drew on
this experience in the field to give health & safety seminars.
He then took up a regional role in operations.
Kevin was invited to help start up a plant hire operation for a
plc based on the south coast. He then went on to new product development
for the company. This required research into new products/markets
throughout Europe,
In the early days of mobile communications Kevin worked for one
of the then two network providers. He assisted companies in gaining
entry into the market, giving advice on business planning, marketing
and training.
Prior to joining Government Office Northwest Kevin was a General
Manager of an ICT training company.
