Stagecoach Liverpool To Chester Night Bus Becomes Permanent
Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire’s night bus from Liverpool to Chester has become a permanent fixture, after the company launched the trial service in September.
The service, which enables people living on Wirral, Ellesmere Port, and Chester to travel about more easily at night has been welcomed by passengers.
The buses run every Friday and Saturday night with the last services leaving as late as 3.05am. The company will continue to operate its luxurious Stagecoach Gold buses, which are fitted with audio CCTV, as standard throughout the route.
The buses follow the same route as the current number 1 daytime serviceand people using the service don’t have to pay any more for night time journeys than they do in the day. The name of the service will change from N1 to 1 in line with the daytime service to improve convenience and ease of use for passengers.
Stagecoach dayrider, weekly megarider and Xtra tickets are available/accepted for night time journeys on the 1 services. Single and return tickets are also available.
Rob Jones, managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire said: “The night time service on the number 1 addresses a key need for people across Merseyside and Cheshire and we’re delighted to confirm that we will be making the service a permanent part of our offering for the foreseeable future.
“The trial period, which ran from September has shown that this is a service that people really need and we’re pleased to be able to address that and provide people with the means to travel about and enjoy themselves on a Friday and Saturday night.
“We’re confident this service will continue to be highly popular - particularly over the busy Christmas season and will enable people to get home from work or play comfortably and affordably on our luxury Stagecoach gold buses”
Under the night service:
• The last bus to Chester from Liverpool Sir Thomas Street is 1.35am.
• The last bus to Ellesmere Port Bus Station from Liverpool Sir Thomas Street is 3.05am.
• The last bus to Liverpool Whitechapel from Chester Bus Exchange is 1.35am.
• The last bus to Birkenhead from Chester Bus Exchange is 3.05am

• Rock Ferry
• New Ferry
• Bromborough Cross
• Eastham Bridle Road
• Little Sutton, Red Lion
• Great Sutton, Bulls Head
• Ellesmere Port
• Cheshire Oaks
