Anthony Ely visited Woodlands Hospice accompanied by his mother and daughter

The Mayor of Knowsley Town Council Anthony Ely, visited Woodlands Hospice recently accompanied by his mother Doreen and his daughter Libbie. During the visit time was given to chatting with a number of staff and volunteers. Unfortunately, patients were not well enough to receive visitors on this occasion but Councillor Ely is keen to return in a few weeks.

Rose Milnes, Chief Executive at the Hospice said: “We are very grateful to the Mayor and his family for taking time out of their busy schedule to come along to the Hospice and see first-hand the services provided to local people and their families."

During his visit Councillor Ely said: “I have chosen Woodlands Hospice in my mayoral year of office as a charity partner in order to highlight how crucial the services they offer are when it comes to end of life care and support for families dealing with terminal illness. I experienced this care first hand in relation to the professional care afforded to my father before his passing in 2013. I hope that the people of Merseyside and beyond will continue to support such a worthwhile and valuable community service for many years to come either financially, through donations or practically through volunteering”.
