Skyline have appointed Mitchell Charlesworth to help drive growth

Skyline have appointed Liverpool accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth to deliver a range of financial and business support services to support Skyline’s growth.

The appointment comes at a time when Skyline has mapped out an ambitious growth plan on the back of securing a major six-figure deal to deliver a new creative hub for leading UK outdoor arts company, Walk the Plank.

Skyline specialises in delivering refurbishment, construction, M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) and interior fit-out projects in the public and private sectors.

The high-profile deal will involve widescale extension and development work for the Arts Council England funded outdoor arts company.

The new Cobden Works creative hub in Salford is set to open this autumn uniting artists, creators, learners and various head office functions under one roof.

Mitchell Charlesworth partner Mike Buxton said: “We are very pleased to have been appointed by Skyline and further strengthen our portfolio of construction sector clients.

We are supporting Skyline in a number of key areas including implementing a new cloud-based software package.

We are also heavily involved in internal training for the new system and we are in the process of helping them transfer all their data over to the new system.

“Key services we deliver for construction sector clients include acquisition and investment financing, CIS and employment status, and tax planning such as income tax, corporation tax and capital allowances.

We further support with financial projections, risk analysis and pension scheme usage such as SSIPs.” Speaking of the Walk the Plank contract, Skyline director Ellis Hill said: “We have appointed business advisors Mitchell Charlesworth to help manage our vision at a time when we have secured a terrific project with Walk the Plank.

Their team is supporting us with accounts, corporation tax and personal tax as well as helping implement a new cloud-based software package.

Their team of experts deal with property and construction companies on a daily basis, and this wealth and depth of knowledge will enable us to identify opportunities to grow our business.

It’s a terrific project to have secured and is one of many we are working on across the Greater Manchester area, where we are having particular success within the education sector.

“We have completed the preliminary clearance at the Cobden Works creative hub, and have started pressing ahead with the main construction, working to an innovative design by architects practice Architectural Emporium.

The new site will include new and refurbished spaces within a former light industrial building in a fascinating part of Salford which has a mix of commercial tenants close to some new residential areas.

Initial work on the project included site clearance and the demolition of some small out-buildings before new building works got underway. We are now well into the 26-week project and aim to complete the work in the coming months for a summer move-in and official opening in September.”

Walk the Plank co-founder John Wassell said the Cobden Works development coincides with a 25th anniversary and broader ambition to become an internationally significant player in the outdoor arts scene.

Skyline clients include architects, building surveyors, facility managers, landlords, project managers, quantity surveyors, commercial agents and tenants.
