This morning we welcomed guests to a members meeting at Barnett Waddingham

This morning (Friday 24th) we welcomed guests to a members meeting hosted by Barnett Waddingham to discuss the impact of the budget and the macro-economic conditions.

Brian Sloan, North West Agent for the Bank of England, gave a snapshot of the macro-economic conditions and the prevailing impact anticipated as a result of the budget announcements.

Whilst content was discussed on a ‘Chatham House’ basis, participants discussed the impact of inflationary pressures, Brexit, productivity challenges and international trade as well as trends relating to wage growth and investment in capital expenditure.

Several of the issues discussed are captured by the blog and within the British Chambers of Commerce formal response to the budget which can be found here
