Liverpool Crime Alert
'Liverpool Crime Alert' is the City centre crime reduction initiative provided by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Merseyside Police, the Central BID Company and the city centre businesses.
There are now over 300 city centre business premises participating in the scheme, comprising large and small retail outlets, hotels, museums, galleries, car parks and public and commercial buildings. One of the tools employed is the provision of current photographs and up to the minute intelligence to all our members about persistent offenders.
The scheme has produced excellent results by reducing actual reported crime, and by reducing the opportunity for persistent offenders to commit crime. We are also the recipients of the "Safer Business Award" for our efforts on behalf of business in the city.
Working in partnership with businesses in the city centre has been extremely successful. We need now to carry our success through this period of economic recession which traditionally means an increase in aquisitive crime.
We may be in competition in business but we must remain united in Profit Protection.
