Colleagues are invited to join us for the next in our series of networking breakfasts/opportunities to interact with Studio@Deyes.


8:15am-9:00am - Networking session (breakfast will be served at 8.30am)

9am-9.15am - Student presentation

9.15am-10:00am - An audience with… We are incredibly lucky to be joined by three professionals from within the sectors which correspond to our three specialisms.

The below professionals will be discussing their careers, and the industry within which they work, with our students. Colleagues are welcome to join these sessions or depart depending on their own commitments for the day.

Emma Summerscales

Emma Summerscales is a fashion designer and lifelong upcycler. She studied design realisation at London College of Fashion, where her final collection, entitled Zero, looked at ways to eliminate waste in garment making. Emma has a blog about various aspects of clear conscience dressing; including wardrobe restyle using clothes you already have, investment buying and brand research, second-hand clothes and upcycling to keep up with changing trends. She teaches workshops in sewing and upcycling; and organises events to highlight the value and potential resource of existing clothes. “Clothes are an expression of identity and personal philosophy. I want mine to say that I’m an individual; and that I care about people and the environment.”
