The Royal Thai Embassy, in partnership with Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, KPMG, Eastern Economic Corridor Office, Chang beer and with the participation of UK Export Finance, are organising a Roadshow for the Eastern Economic Corridor of Thailand. Come along to learn more about the investment opportunities in the market.

Thailand is at the centre of the Asia's economic groups, being centrally positioned at the heart of rapidly growing countries such as Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, Thailand is the AEC's (Asian Economic Community's) key strategic location for manufacturing, trading, export and logistics. Thailand is therefore the best location for investment in ASEAN with comprehensive logistic connections to Asian countries and the world.

The Royal Thai Government has laid out a 20-year strategy that includes a wide range of top-down initiatives, particularly in infrastructure and people development, to transform Thailand into a nation that can compete against wealthier, more knowledge-based economies. The government calls the strategy "Thailand 4.0". Where 4.0 is defined as the highest stage of innovative, value-based industry, with an emphasis on 10 fields including robotics, medicine, aviation, bioenergy and biochemical, and digital.

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development lies at the heart of Thailand 4.0. The government is gearing it to rejuvenate and enhance the Eastern Seaboard development that had successfully beefed up Thailand's ports and roads back in 1980s, giving Thailand an infrastructure edge on neighbours like Indonesia and Vietnam.

The EEC is an area-based development focusing on 3 eastern provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong all within a few hours drive from Bangkok. It includes several major infrastructure projects to support the prospective economic opportunities in the area from high-speed rails and an Airport City. Come along to this event to learn more about the region and the opportunities for UK Businesses.
