What next for markets and investors?

What next for markets and investors?

A lunchtime talk

Port of Liverpool Building
Wednesday 12 June 2019
11.30am – 2.00pm

Whilst Brexit has dominated the UK political and economic outlook, the rest of the globe has continued to trade despite the tensions between the US and China.

Mike Bell, global market strategist at J.P. Morgan, will explore the key trends and themes that are likely to shape global markets, including whether more supportive policies from the world’s central banks can extend the market rally, or whether geopolitical risk — including Brexit — will be the
dominant force.

Ed Smith, head of asset allocation research at Rathbones, will zoom out from the never-ending story of Brexit and  review some of the longer-term problems and opportunities that will influence the UK economy over the next 10-15 years, regardless of the future relationship with the EU. He will then consider what they might mean for investment portfolios.
