Spanish Flu History Day at Liverpool Medical Institution

Spanish Flu History Day at Liverpool Medical Institution

Catch the Spanish Flu Exhibition - History Day 12.10.2019 at LMI

The Spanish Flu Exhibition explores the role of nursing in the deadly Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918-1920. Building on Florence Nightingale's work in the Crimean War, the First World War ushered in a new era for military nursing. The displays also feature an influenza themed art installation, "Quarantine Boxes" by Helen Birnbaum.

The exhibition will run Monday - Wednesday 10am to 4pm throughout October at LMI, and is located in the Council Room on the Ground Floor of the Liverpool Medical Institution.

There will be a special opening event day on Saturday 12th October from 10.30am - 4.30pm during which the exhibition will be open to visit and timed activities and talks will also take place throughout the day.
