ADECCO PREMIER - IT'S ALL ABOUT ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

Recruitment is something that touches every business at some point. In many cases it results in uncovering new talent that quickly becomes an asset to a business. However, there are occasions, when for some reason, something simply does not gel. The person that 'wowed' in the interview just does not materialise into the star you hoped for. This can often be a costly mistake both in terms of time and money.

SIGN THE PETITION TO FREE UP THE M6
    Busy Motorway

As anyone who has whittled away hours of their life sitting in traffic on the M6 between J11A and J19 knows, there is perhaps no better example of the inadequacies of the planning system than this. This section of the M6 is an integral part of the UK's road network.

The proposal to improve the situation involves widening the M6 to four lanes within those junctions. This will increase capacity and allow businesses to get to their destinations quicker.

WORRIED ABOUT NETWORKING? - WE CAN HELP

Our members tell us that they get a lot of business from networking but what if you're new to business or want to improve your networking technique to make sure that you can get the most from every opportunity, the Chamber can help you.

Chamber Professional Development is offering a programme of four very popular evening sessions called Mix and Match - The idea being people mix & match networking styles, people and businesses to what suits them.

TRADE MISSION TO IRELAND & INTERNATIONAL TRAINING

Liverpool Chamber is hosting a Trade Mission to Dublin 17 - 19 September. This is ideal opportunity for companies who currently trade with Ireland or are new to exporting. Ireland is a good choice for first time exporters. Eligible Merseyside companies can receive a 50% subsidy towards mission expenses.

HOW WELL IS THE GOVERNMENT DOING?

Here's a chance to get your company some free publicity in the business section of a national newspaper. Jeff Randall of The Daily Telegraph is on the lookout for businesses to contact him. He is investigating 'Real Business In Brown's Britain.'

MERSEYSIDE RIGHTS OF WAY IMPROVEMENT PLAN - A CONSULTATION

The local authorities of Merseyside and Merseytravel have announced a public consultation period for the Draft Merseyside Rights Of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP). They are inviting comments on the proposals they have for improving local rights of way for all types of users.

NEW CARBON FOOTPRINT MEASURES - ACT NOW ADVISES CHAMBER

Start preparing now for a new carbon emissions trading scheme, which will hit up to 5,000 UK organisations - starting next year, advises Chamber Utilities.

Although the government's proposed Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) will be implemented in stages from 2010 to 2013, it will affect businesses much sooner because charges are likely to be based on consumption from January 2008 to December 2008.

    2007 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS UPDATE
    800th logo
