Introduction to
the Dublin Isle of Man study This study was commissioned from the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce in 2001 by the CityFocus SRB6 programme. The recommendations include: • greater civic links through political leadership • accord to promote joint transportation campaigns • joint media campaigns • resurrect the Irish Sea partnership • develop a joint benchmarking system • form a group of experts to comment on the features and trends within the economies and publish an annual report • support a joint seminar programme for interested sectors - one has been held in January 2002 through The Mersey Partnership on joint opportunities • build on the Chamber twinning programme - this has resulted in a three year golf tournament programme across the three areas • promote export potential of Merseyside - through the links with the All-Ireland Chambers, Liverpool Chamber has developed a strong relationship with the Irish-American Chambers • encourage links through Universities to support job opportunities and vocational training For further information, contact Sara Williams, Policy Executive |
