Following the success of last year’s #GetOutThere17, Liverpool & Sefton Chambers of Commerce are once again holding a photo competition to encourage us all to get out and about and enjoy the early Autumn weather!

There is an increasing amount of evidence to support the wider health benefits of cycling and walking, for both our physical and mental health. Even if you can’t cycle or walk to work there are lots of opportunities to take a break from the office at lunchtime or even on the journey to the bus stop or station.

Whatever the reason you are out and about cycling and walking, we would love you to take a photograph and share your experience with us.

This year we have three categories:

Joy”: we want this to reflect the fun and quirky element of your journey whether out with friends or work colleagues or simply the environment around you!

Beauty”: we live in a great city region with its mix of urban and rural landscapes so plenty of scope to find the image that captures the beauty of our region

Liver Bird”: we want to see as many images of the Liver Bird as we can – the more unusual the better! Just walking around the city you will be amazed at just how many of the famous birds you can spot!

To be eligible the photograph must have been taken in the Liverpool City Region between June and September 2018, and reflect some part of your working day - after that we want you to use your imagination!

We have a few ideas to inspire you:

Liverpool Biennial 2018 - Beautiful world, where are you? (14 July – 28 October)

Liverpool Biennial is the UK biennial of contemporary art with art works across the city. All exhibitions are open Tuesday – Sunday, with public artworks and some venues also open Mondays. Check the location pages for opening times.

Netwalking Lunches

Check out the regular netwalks organised by the Liverpool BID. If you aren’t based in the city centre why not get together with colleagues and organise your own local walks and have an al fresco lunch.

Cycle Hire Schemes

With schemes like citybike and Merseyrail Bike and Go, you can start and finish your journey by bike, opt to cycle to a meeting or take a ride at lunchtime – why not team up with colleagues.

The Chamber has organised this competition in partnership with Merseytravel and Living Streets and it is funded through the Department for Transport Cycling and Walking to Work Programme.

We are offering £50 shopping voucher for each of the winners and we will also feature a selection of the best images in the Chamber Well Connected Magazine.

To enter the competition please post your photograph on Twitter with the hashtag #GetOutThere18 and tag us @LpoolChamber

If you do not have access to a Twitter account, please feel free to send us your entries to editorial@liverpoolchamber.org.uk with your name and where the photo was taken. We will then post your image onto Twitter for everyone to see and appreciate!

You can enter up to a maximum of 3 photographs.

The competition ends on 8 October 2018 and winners will be announced w/c 22 October 2018.

Remember to always take care when cycling and walking!
