Business Start-Ups  Thinking of starting your own business? Liverpool Chamber, in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), can help you achieve your dream. If you are over 18, not in full time education and have never run your own business then the New Entrepreneur Scholarships (NES) programme could help you develop your ideas into a business. The programme consists of a minimum of twelve weeks part-time learning at LJMU, delivered by experienced tutors. You will learn all about running your own business and how to produce a professional business plan. Alongside the programme you also have an opportunity to develop your IT skills with an NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification. In addition to the group learning programme you will also have access to the information learning library and IT suite at LJMU. One to one support from a qualified business advisor every two weeks is also provided. On completion of the programme there is an opportunity to attend a funding panel with your business plan. You may be awarded up to £1500 of financial support to assist with start-up costs. Once you have accessed the funding you have up to six months post-support from the NES team.
