Build a marketing campaign that gets results!

A crash course in the fundamentals of planning an executing a marketing campaign

Learn the fundamentals that can be applied to any marketing campaign, to give it the best chance of success. Pick up practical tools, from an experienced marketing consultant, that you can use to help you sell and promote events, products and opportunities.

This training session is designed and delivered by Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services. It will include some voluntary sector specific information but the vast majority of the day's content is applicable to all local, small to medium organisations. The price is £120 for private and public sector, £90 for people from the voluntary sector. The focus of the day is on designing a marketing campaign, rather than on strategy.

If you are responsible for promoting any product, service, event or project for your organisation, this course will teach you how to go about that, to ensure maximum success, even with limited time and resources.

About this course

Whether your budget is huge or non-existent, the fundamentals of designing a great marketing campaign are the same. There are questions you can ask yourself and decisions you can make, before you put any information into the world, that will save you time and make everything you create – from social media posts to posters – easier to write and much more effective.

In this one day course, LCVS’s resident marketing and communications professional will teach you the steps to take, in order to build a marketing campaign on firm foundations. She will also take you through the practical stages of creating basic marketing materials, such as news stories, social media posts, posters and email newsletters, in a way that makes people take notice.

You’ll leave this course with:

  • Knowledge of what to send LCVS in order for us to best promote your organisation to our network (non-profit organisations only)
  • Information about other local and voluntary sector media outlets and what to send them, to give you the best chance or gaining coverage
  • A check list of actions to take before you undertake any marketing, to save you time and make your promotional activities as effective as possible
  • A step-by-step guide to creating basic marketing materials
  • Arm yourself with step-by-step actions you can use again and again, to share your organisation with the world!

IMPORTANT NOTE: this course will not cover graphic design, copywriting or the nuts and bolts of how to use particular platforms. You will however receive recommendations for software that’s easy and free to use. There will also be opportunity to ask questions throughout the day.

About the trainer

Gillian has worked in marketing and media for over 15 years, both in agency roles and as director of several local magazines and event networks; she can tell you what journalists need from you, as well as how to create it, along with giving you plenty of other tips, hacks and key contacts. Gillian is now marketing and communications officer at LCVS, so is personally responsible for posting your content on our website.
