Can you spare an hour to help us at a bucket collection to raise funds for Tom’s Trust – a charity that supports children with brain tumours and their families.
We have just set up our 3rd centre at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to support children with brain tumours and their families. Our founders lost their son, Tom, aged 9, from a brain tumour after 7 months of being diagnosed. They felt that their mental anguish and lack/overload of information was not addressed in anyway. The mental health aspect of a physical illness is often overlooked, and they vowed to provide mental health support to compliment the NHS physical care provision. Our vision is a world where every child with a brain tumour has the mental health support they need, as well as their loved ones.
Merseyrail are kindly letting us do bucket collections at Liverpool Central Train Station. As we have only just opened our 3rd centre it is a great opportunity to raise awareness of what we do.
It costs on average £1,500 to support a child and their family for a year. This includes sibling group work, cognitive assessments, support a child’s reintegration into school and social life and one to one sessions by a clinical psychologist for the child and parent and sibling support.
You will be given a t-shirt and bucket and all you need is a smile. A chance to support a great charity and help us let people know we are here to help.
