Pippa Hunter-Jones, Professor of Marketing at the University of Liverpool Management School

Pippa Hunter-Jones is a Professor of Marketing, and Subject Group Head of Marketing. Pippa has a passion for research which explores the service needs and experiences of ‘vulnerable consumers’. This passion has resulted in numerous lines of research enquiry linked to aspects of service, service systems, service design, transformative service research, particularly linked to the health care sector. Current projects underway cover different parts of the healthcare economy and include: primary care (e.g. primary care networks; technological innovations); acute care (e.g. innovations in healthcare); mental wellbeing (e.g. effective models of service delivery); and palliative/end-of-life care (e.g. the service user experience).

Lynn Sudbury-Riley, Professor of Marketing at the University of Liverpool Management School

Lynn Sudbury-Riley is a Professor of Marketing and the Director of Education for the Marketing Subject Group. Her research primarily focusses on improving quality of life for vulnerable consumers and examines ways in which marginalized consumers face difficulties in access to and consumption of products and services. Lynn’s recent research in health, particularly palliative care, emphasizes the ways in which service needs to be refined to improve access and experience for vulnerable consumers. Lynn also examines bereavement, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date Lynn has completed research projects with several NHS palliative care providers and different hospices around the UK, as well as COVID-19 bereavement groups. This work has attracted numerous grants and has informed government policy at various levels.

Helen Brown, CEO of Wirral Hospice St John’s

Helen joined Wirral Hospice as Chief Executive in August 2017. Prior to that she was Clinical & Operations Director at East Cheshire Hospice and has more than 42 years’ experience in nursing and education. Helen completed her Masters in Hospice Leadership with her dissertation exploring the culture of Hospices and the impact on the organisation and service users.
