About this event
Purposeful Business: navigating the challenges for a sustainable future
Our one-day interactive conference brings together the latest research evidence from the Centre for Sustainable Business (CSB), with practical experience from business leaders on the potential of a ‘purpose-led’ organisation model for addressing sustainability challenges successfully and realistically.
The conference is designed around action and the sharing of expertise, to inspire practical takeaways for businesses aspire to become a force for good in protecting our planet and its people.
If you are a business or sustainability leader, non-executive director, or you are engaged in developing purpose-led business approaches, you will find this event particularly useful.
The conference will not only give you the opportunity to network with academic experts and business leaders, you can also receive practical advice from our themed Business Clinics on the potential for implementing a purpose-led approach in your organisation.
The conference will be hosted by the Centre’s Director, Professor Jo Meehan, followed by several keynotes by research experts and business leaders from organisations, such as John Lewis Partnership and Balfour Beatty Vinci, who will offer different perspectives on the ‘purpose-led’ approach to sustainability.
After the expert talks, you will have opportunity to attend our themes Business Clinics and roundtable discussions, led by the CSB’ Advisory Board representatives. During this time, you can also join the screening of a climate change documentary.
During the event we will provide light snacks, tea, coffee and water.
To avoid food wastage we will ask you in advance if you would like to be catered for and if there are any dietary requirements we should be aware of.
We have also thought about other elements to make catering as sustainable as possible:
- Locally sourced foods
- No paper or plastic cups/cutlery
- Water dispensers
- Vegan and vegetarian options only
- Whole fruits and biscuits that will not be wasted after the event
- Guests can take any left over food home
- Feel free to bring your own food container, water bottle or cup!
The CTH is located in the heart of the University precinct, in Liverpool city centre, with plenty of options to travel to the event via public transport.
The building is fully DDA compliant, and exceeds current legislative requirements to ensure it is accessible and useable by all.
