Online, webinar

By: Mersey Care NHS

We are delighted to announce that we have been commissioned by Liverpool City Council to deliver a suicide prevention project within the city of Liverpool. As part of this project, we have commissioned Wirral mind to deliver a community level suicide prevention training – Called No More Suicide. The package is suitable for those who work in a public facing role.

Why is this training important?

According to the Office of national statistics Liverpool’s suicide rate is 11.0 per 100,000 which is slightly higher than the national rate of 10.4 per 100,000. The training equips individuals to recognise the signs of suicide risk and intervene effectively, potentially preventing someone from taking their own life. Suicide prevention training helps to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and suicide, making it easier for individuals to seek help and support.

What are the outcomes of training?
The aim of the training is to:

  • Increase your understanding and knowledge of practical suicide prevention techniques.
  • Recognise risk
  • Develop skills to be able to have clear direct conversations.
  • Know what support is available in your community.

The Live Session hosted on Zoom which offers a combination of interactive discussion and activities designed to increase your confidence in relation to supporting someone who is feeling suicidal.
