Why Diversity matters within your business; An interactive panel discussion to explore ways your business can engage with and understand the Inclusion agenda, by implementing strategies into your recruitment, HR and Culture.

This event is part of a three part event series between Bruntwood and InnovateHer.

This event is suitable for:

CEO’s / founders, HR professionals, Recruitment Managers, Operation managers, anyone interested in creating an inclusive workplace, and anyone responsible for hiring or developing talent.

This event will help you:

  • Learn from others about how they have implemented inclusive strategies across the business, from finance, to recruitment, to HR
  • Start a recruitment roadmap to hire more diverse people into your teams
  • Encourage board members to think about diversity and inclusion differently
  • Understand the benefits of recruiting diverse talent, and how it can improve your profitability
  • Plan for your next generation of talent to enter the workforce

This workshop is hosted in partnership with Bruntwood and InnovateHer, a social enterprise who support companies to become more inclusive, through events, workshops and marketing activities. Their mission is to ‘Get girls ready for the tech industry and the tech industry ready for girls’.

Interconnect are a web agency that design, build and support custom software solutions to aid businesses. Their aim is to simplify digital to make life easier and cost-effective for their clients. Interconnect offer a skilled and flexible team including developers, designers and project managers.

Over the past 4 years, whilst working with InnovateHer, the Interconnect senior leadership team have committed to hiring people from a variety of different backgrounds, as well as changing policies and their ways of working so that colleagues feel supported and included, whatever their circumstance. Laurie, who is one of the employees who has led on this work will be sharing learnings from their experience.

Before starting her own business, Irene was a Detective Inspector for Merseyside Police – the first black, female inspector in the history of the organisation. Irene has over 30 years experience in the public sector; local authorities, policing and education; consulting, coaching and empowering others with many diverse challenges and goals. She has spent over 20 years in supervisory and management positions, motivating, leading, supporting and directing staff, critical incident management, dispute resolution and performance management.
