The Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship Start-up School is a FREE 3-day programme for 16-19 years olds based in the Liverpool City Region – and is run in collaboration with the university’s Widening Participation and Outreach team.
The first two days involves learning about entrepreneurship and all the processes to successfully design | develop | and create a commercial or social enterprise. Day three supports individuals to create and practice a pitch for a start-up – with some participants offered the opportunity to present the idea to a panel of experts and entrepreneurs to win some start-up funding.
A total of £2500 is available in £750 | £500 | £250 | and £125 grants. In addition to the funding – winners are also provided with some mentorship to offer recipients with some on-going support.
After the pitches is a graduation ceremony with certificates and photos – everyone that completes the Start-up School receives a Professional Award in Entrepreneurship. Following that is a small PARTY with pizza and refreshments – to all celebrate completing the programme! You’ll also be provided with FREE lunch across the three days.
The Start-up School is running in the Easter break on Wednesday 12th | Thursday 13th | and Friday 14th April – 9.30am-4.30pm on all days. The sessions are going to be held in Seminar Room 2 in the University of Liverpool Management School – that’s located on Chatham Street | L69 7ZH.
The Entrepreneur in Residence and Senior Lecturer in the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship are going to be delivering the sessions with the help of others – like 6 entrepreneurs that are going to be talking to the group to provide insights into setting-up and running successful ventures.
