About this event

The North West Cyber Resilience Centre would like to invite you to the launch of the Merseyside Cyber Support Programme.

The North West Cyber Resilience Centre invites you to the Merseyside Cyber Security Programme launch at 9:00 am on Wednesday 9th August, at ACC Liverpool on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Supported by the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner and Merseyside Police, this programme will offer funded support to small businesses across the Merseyside region to help tackle the growing threat of cybercrime.

Speakers include

  • Emily Spurrell – Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside
  • Serena Kennedy – Chief Constable of Merseyside Police
  • The NWCRC team
  • Steve Rotheram – Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region

Why join us?

  • Learn more about the programme, what we hope to achieve and how we can protect businesses
  • Get to know the academia, policing and private sector partners directly involved
  • Discuss how the programme can act as a catalyst for increasing cyber resilience across the whole of Merseyside

A fully funded programme to help protect local businesses from online crime

Utilising funding recovered from criminal assets, the North West Cyber Resilience Centre will support 300 SMEs across the Merseyside region to access training and resources to protect businesses and educate business owners against cyber attacks.

The threat of cybercrime against businesses has grown as cyber criminals use increasingly sophisticated methods and technologies to steal money, information or blackmail business owners. One cyber attack against a small business can completely bring it to its knees; it’s important our work supports as many businesses as possible in the region.
