Fancy taking part in the unique Santa Dash? Like wearing a Santa costume? Do something amazing this Christmas and help raise funds for Tom’s Trust – a charity that supports children with brain tumours and their families.
Do you fancy dressing up as Santa whilst running a 5k and raising funds for a great charity? The ever-popular Santa dash is happening, and you can be a part of it. You can choose a red or blue costume whilst raising funds for Tom’s Trust – a charity that supports children with brain tumours and their families.
We have just set up our 3rd centre at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to support children with brain tumours and their families. Our founders lost their son, Tom, aged 9, from a brain tumour after 7 months of being diagnosed. They felt that their mental anguish and lack/overload of information was not addressed in anyway. The mental health aspect of a physical illness is often overlooked, and they vowed to provide mental health support to compliment the NHS physical care provision. Our vision is a world where every child with a brain tumour has the mental health support they need, as well as their loved ones.
As we have only just opened our 3rd centre it is a great opportunity to raise awareness of what we do.
It costs on average £1,500 to support a child and their family for a year. This includes sibling group work, cognitive assessments, support a child’s reintegration into school and social life and one to one sessions by a clinical psychologist for the child and parent and sibling support.
You will be given a running vest, sponsor form and/or we can help you sort a just giving page. We will be there to cheer you on. A chance to support a great charity and help us let people know we are here to help especially at what can be a very difficult time for families.
