Get ready to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Sefton Women’s & Children’s Aid who deliver Sefton Domestic Abuse Service for all.

Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA) are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. The charity work across all communities within Sefton and are based in Bootle and Southport providing the only domestic abuse service across the area for all victims. The charity provides emotional, practical and development support to women, children, families and male victims.

As well as providing 1-1 and peer group support, in December 2023 the charity opened the doors to its brand new family refuge in the area. The refuge houses up to five families fleeing from abuse.

The 50th anniversary of the charity comes at a pivotal point in the charities journey as they are currently working with Sefton MBC to provide a unified Domestic Abuse Helpline for all. The pilot has been going well and the full service will be tendered later this year. SWACA are working hard to make a real impact with the Domestic Abuse Helpline and secure the contract later this year.

In order to celebrate their achievements to date and raise awareness across the community and with local businesses SWACA are holding their ‘50th Anniversary Liberty Ball’ on Saturday 13th July 2024. The event will be a fantastic networking opportunity with a packed programme of entertainment, high profile sports personalities and with over 250 guests attending, it really will be a celebration fit for a 50th anniversary celebration.

The charity wants to make this an event to remember and they need your support. Tickets are available now on Eventbrite – for package/table tickets please contact the charity directly.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available – including packages that will support the front-line Case Workers to attend the event. For more details please contact: sarah.padmore@swaca.com
