Join return to work experts Women Returners and STEM Returners at a free-of-charge Employer Insight Event for tech and engineering employers in the Midlands on supporting career returners back into STEM roles.

The event is on 25 April in Liverpool at The Women’s Organisation and is supported by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. Timing is 9:00-11:00 (9:30 start, running until 10:30, with 10:30-11:00 networking).

Learn from the experience of Women Returners and STEM Returners, together with successful returner employers and career returners. Find out more about STEM ReCharge, a new project funded by the Government Equality Hub providing free training and support to employers on recruiting and retaining STEM professionals who have taken caring-related career breaks. You will have the opportunity to ask your questions to the speakers from Women Returners, STEM Returners and local employers and to network with other returner employers.  Register ASAP as places are limited.

At the Insight Event you will hear from:

  • Julianne Miles MBE, CEO and Co-Founder of Women Returners, and Natalie Desty, Director of STEM Returners. They will share their experiences from the last decade on the impacts and opportunities of accessing and supporting career returners with STEM experience. They will also give an overview of the free STEM ReCharge Employer Training and Support to help you to develop and run your own returner initiatives
  • Tech and engineering employers from local organisations who have run returner programmes. They will cover the business benefits of hiring STEM professionals returning to work after a career break and how to set returners up for success in your organisation
  • Tech and Engineering professionals who have returned to work after a career break. They will share their personal stories of the challenges of relaunching a career and how their employers helped them to succeed.
