The firm has three sites in Bootle, Warrington and Manchester with head office in Liverpool analysing half a million tests per month, and currently employs 280+ people. BioGrad is also accredited by UKAS, the independent United Kingdom Accreditation Service responsible for determining the technical competence and integrity of organisations offering testing, calibration and certification services.

Who we are
BioGrad was set up in 2014 by CEO, Dr Natalie Kenny, as a way to offer highly regarded laboratory and clinical training to science students, graduate researchers and teachers from across the globe. BioGrad Training is the UK’s leading laboratory-based learning provider for scientists, attracting elite scientists from 526 institutes in 21 countries per year prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, working in line with the Joint Council for Qualification, AQA, OCR and Edexcel to assess practical science work.
In 2020, the company pivoted in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, creating BioGrad Diagnostics – providing a responsive and dynamic Covid-19 testing facility. Through this new arm of the business, BioGrad helped to keep the country’s schools open during the crisis before expanding the service to businesses and the wider public.
Profits from the Diagnostics arm are being reinvested back into the business to fund further development and growth, including its bursary scheme, which supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds with their course fees.
Dr Natalie Kenny, founder and CEO of BioGrad, said:
“The company is on a huge growth trajectory and has performed exceptionally well – we are considering options for the future direction of the business. We look forward to working with Harrogate International Advisors to help strategically develop the business as we enter into the next stage of our growth.”
