A unique online course for all involved in the commodities trade is now live
With the University of Liverpool, the International Cotton Association has developed an open-access online course which will lead to a Professional Certificate in Commodity Management.
The certificate has been developed for those currently working, or aspiring to work, in the commodity industry as a mark of professionalism and commitment to the field. The course consists of six online modules that cover key aspects of commodity management including risk management, futures and options, law, marketing, leadership and strategy.
The qualification also benefits those employers that operate Continuing Professional Development programmes or participate in talent management schemes and succession planning as it will serve as an indicator of an employee’s understanding of the fundamental principles of commodities.
The course is set at Level 6 (undergraduate level) on the UK’s Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). This means that the credits gained from each module can be transferred to other programmes depending upon the direction the candidate wants their study to take.
The first module, Financial Markets and Risk Management will commence 8 May.
The course is online so participants can join from anywhere in the world, without needing visas or having to pay any travel and accommodation costs.
