Mersey Care & Chamber to tackle mental illness challenge

Merseycare NHS Trust has partnered with the Liverpool & Sefton Chamber

Merseycare NHS Trust has partnered with the Liverpool & Sefton Chambers of Commerce to raise awareness and improve the managerial understanding of mental health challenges in the workplace.

Merseycare’s Life Room facility in Walton hosted this week’s Meet & Eat event, showcasing its work to more than forty guests of the Chamber. The facility is specifically designed to provide a non-clinical intervention to individuals with specific challenges and needs.

Engaging with employers who are Chamber members is specifically aimed at supporting businesses with their people management of a challenging and - at times - stigmatising issue, as well as opening opportunities to service users within companies, such as through providing work experience, interview experience and workshops.

The partnership will provide Chamber of Commerce members with access to workshops, fact sheets, blogs, resources and joint campaigns including the promotion of a national ‘Zero Suicide Alliance’ online training programme.

We’ll update members with further details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out these images from the Meet & Eat lunch earlier this week and access the Life Rooms presentation here.
