Liverpool represented at the Taiwanese Golden Twin City International Forum

Liverpool was recently represented at the Taiwanese Golden Twin City International Forum alongside representatives from New Taipei, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney.

At the invitation of the Mayor of New Taipei Paul Grover, Associate Director of Arup Liverpool delivered a key note speech on the cultural renaissance of Liverpool on behalf of the city.  The three day forum hosted by New Taipei City Mayor Dr CHU Li-luan and chaired by the Vice Mayor Mr HSU Chih-chien, sought to bring together government representatives and urban design experts to share experiences of transformational waterside projects of global significance.

Paul Grover, (pictured third from left) comments “With its world class attractions, spectacular events and unrivalled heritage set along one of the most iconic skylines in the work, Liverpool rightfully took its place alongside the other greater waterfront cities at the event”.  As well as sharing lessons on the cultural renaissance it was also an opportunity for Paul to actively promote the International Festival for Business in his capacity at a UKTI North West Export Champion. Paul’s key note speech ended with a video from the Rt Hon David Cameron inviting attendees to visit Liverpool during the International Festival for Business between June and July 2014.
