Freshfields Animal Rescue features in the new Tate Liverpool Exhibition

Freshfields Animal Rescue would like to invite you to see our animals as you've never seen them before - as the stars of a new exhibition at Tate Liverpool by Swedish artist Annika Eriksson.

Freshfields' animals are the focus of the 'Animal' exhibition, which runs from Thursday 20th June to Sunday 14th July at Tate Liverpool, Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4BB. Admission is free.

There will be a special launch event at 3pm on Thursday 20th June, with an introductory talk about our work and the animals featured in the portraits.

This year, Freshfields celebrates 40 years of rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming work, caring for abused and abandoned animals across Merseyside and the North West. Our vision is one of a world which respects the incredible diversity and inherent value of all living things, from dogs and cats to the wildlife and farm animals with whom we share this planet. Our relationship with animals is changing globally, and we want to encourage a discussion around the complex ethical questions involved in the power and responsibility which characterises our relationships.

Art has always had the power to challenge social norms. Behind every one of Annika's portraits is a life: a unique, courageous and special creature whose life has been transformed by the compassion of human beings at Freshfields Animal Rescue. We hope that their stories will encourage people to explore the way they look at animals, on both an artistic and emotional level.

Please join us, bring your friends and colleagues, and be part of the conversation. Find out more about the work of Freshfields at the link below.
