GRAHAM has launched a ‘100 Day Challenge’ to promote health and wellbeing across

The leading construction firm, which is delivering a range of high-profile projects across Liverpool, including The Strand, a £56 million build-to-rent development on Strand Street, is using the initiative to encourage co-workers to stay active and healthy.

The challenge will see employees in the firm’s James Street offices track their physical activity on a mobile app, competing against 250 co-workers from across GRAHAM’s UK-wide offices to record the highest level of physical activity.

Michael Smyth, Human Resources Director at GRAHAM, said:

“Good wellbeing is good business and our commitment to driving excellence in people management led to GRAHAM embarking on a new approach to employee wellbeing.

“In response to employee feedback, we have implemented quarterly wellbeing focuses this year to support and enhance our people’s health and wellbeing. In quarter one of this year, we focused on nutrition as part of our ‘Eat Well’ theme. Quarter two’s theme is ‘Get Fit for Summer’ and our 100 Day Challenge will introduce some good-natured competition as our employees work in teams to top our company-wide leader board for most exercise completed. Quarter three will focus on our ‘Boosting Immunity’ theme and quarter four will focus on mental health as part of our ‘Healthy Minds’ theme.

“Supporting the health and wellbeing of our people is really important and can help our people flourish in all aspects of their lives, while delivering real results for the business. To help us get our health and wellbeing provision right, we have sought expert advice from Support to Perform, which provides solutions to help optimise the health and wellbeing of workforces, enhance engagement and maximise productivity.”

Throughout the 100 Day Challenge, employees at GRAHAM will work in teams with the aim of being physically active for at least 10 minutes a day. Colleagues will track their activity through a mobile app, with one point awarded for every 10 minutes of exercise completed.

Prizes, including a host of e-vouchers for high street and popular online brands, will be awarded to the teams as they hit milestones and to the eventual winners of the challenge.
