Responding to the announcement that parents who lose a child will receive two weeks' paid bereavement leave under new government rules, British Chambers of Commerce Director General Dr Adam Marshall said:

“Jack’s Law gives legal recognition to support the vast majority of businesses already offer colleagues suffering the pain of losing a child. Humanity, not bureaucracy, drives the response of most firms, giving employees the time to grieve and reflect.

“We will work with ministers on the detail of this policy and share examples where businesses have stepped up to support families during difficult times.”
