Liverpool Chamber dedicated Coronavirus guidance page

Thu, April 23rd, 2020

This page serves as a central hub for accessing guidance and support on COVID-19

As the impact and spread of COVID-19 increases, Liverpool Chamber is working hard to gather support and collate resources for businesses in a time of unprecedented challenges.

This page has been created with the intention of providing all our members with a single source of access to guidance, support schemes and practical information.

All current information we have will be located on the Chamber website and broadcast across our social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook).

Key Information Sites

The British Chambers of Commerce are in daily contact with government officials and providing information to members via a resource hub which covers all the official guidance and a summary of the support available from UK government and is being updated on a regular basis.

The Growth Platform also has a resource hub which includes useful information for both your business and your staff. The Growth Platform is seeking to understand what challenges businesses are facing as a result of the virus, through their COVID-19 Impact Survey.

The Government’s dedicated support page has all the latest updates and information on accessing support -  https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus/business-support

Access to support schemes
The British Chambers of Commerce support page includes information on the schemes in place to help businesses deal with the impacts of COVID-19. The hub sets out support for different sectors and includes a summary of the help on offer from the UK Government and details of how to apply for those support measures. One of the most important measures is the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, which focuses on supporting business finance products including term loans, overdrafts, invoice finance and asset finance facilities.

The HM Treasury has released a factsheet on financial support applications, for individuals and for businesses. The factsheet answers common questions and outlines the most important information on financial support.

The banks are there to help and you should talk to your relationship managers if you already bank with them or visit their Coronavirus pages for additional information – the links are:

Transport Information

Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram is issuing important information and travel advice for key workers who need to travel to deliver vital services to communities.

Whilst all non-essential travel should currently be avoided, Merseytravel and transport operators are working hard to provide resilient, dedicated services so that all those who have to make essential journeys are able to do so. Details on public transport can be accessed here

Member Resources

Despite the huge challenges facing our members we know that many of you are providing some excellent practical advice and support to business colleagues including through online training opportunities. Access to finance remains a key priority but we know from the feedback we have had that you would also welcome more support on a range of issues including HR policies including staff welfare; business continuity, resilience and recovery and alternative communications and IT solutions.

We have some excellent examples on our member support page.

We also really want to hear from you about any initiatives you have. This could be in the form of an article/link to a website, online event details or an editorial/thought leadership piece. We will share through the newsletter, website and across our social media platforms.
