As the needs of businesses continue to develop, so too does our service offer, and the genesis of that forward movement lies with those who help to plot our future course – our Board of Directors.
We are seeking up to three exceptional individuals to join us as Non-Executive Directors. As some current directors complete their term of office, we want to build a new group of leaders to help the Chamber team to navigate its next phase of growth and impact.

What are we looking for?
We welcome applications from experienced professionals or diverse backgrounds and perspectives across the private, public and third sectors, including those considering their first NED appointment.
Specific areas of expertise might ideally include:
- HR & talent development
- Finance, audit and risk
- Marketing, communications & PR
- Commercial strategy & growth
- Innovation, technology & digital transformation
- Social value & inclusive growth
What’s required of you?
NEDs help to ensure the Chamber remains effective, accountable and strategically focused.
Responsibilities include:
- Strategic leadership and oversight
- Supporting sound governance and decision-making
- Acting as an ambassador for the Chamber and Liverpool City Region businesses
- Ensuring the organisation remains true to its purpose, values and objectives
The role is voluntary and unpaid, though reasonable Chamber-related travel and expenses will be reimbursed.
Expected commitment includes:
- Approximately 6-8 Board and committee meetings annually
- One annual strategy session
- Participation in selected Chamber events and ambassadorial activities
