Christmas Returns to Liverpool Philharmonic

A Liverpool Christmas tradition is back! Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is lit up and our full Christmas programme is returning. We can’t wait to come back together to celebrate the festive season in style.

Christmas at Liverpool Philharmonic kicks off with the Rat Pack-inspired Swingin’ Christmas concert on 11 December, featuring songs made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole.

Their much-loved Spirit of Christmas concerts return with classic carols performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir. Our host, Classic FM presenter John Suchet, will deliver seasonal readings.

They’ll be throwing a party that children of all ages can enjoy. There will be many festive surprises at our Santa’s Countdown to Christmas concerts, including our Orchestra, our wonderful Children’s Choirs and who knows, maybe even a visit from Santa himself!

No Christmas is complete without the enduring classic film It’s a Wonderful Life, which will be screened twice at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Christmas Eve. Films at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall are extra special. We have a 1930s cinema screen which rises out of the stage itself, and organist Dave Nicholas provides an atmospheric prelude to the screening!

Their New Year’s Eve celebration of the music of the roaring 20’s and fabulous 30’s, Puttin’ On the Ritz, and a performance of Handel’s Messiah on 8 January will round off a joyous festive season.
