Government business partnership initiative launched to support struggling households

On 20 July, the Government’s Cost of Living Business Tsar David Buttress launched Help for Households – Business Partners, a business partnerships initiative that promotes and develops offers that help struggling consumers.

This work builds on the schemes, offers and targeted help that many businesses and organisations are already providing, and helps raise awareness of the private sector offer to the public, which is in addition to the significant support Government is offering.

The Government has built a new digital hub to amplify new and existing consumer offers from businesses to the millions of people who regularly visit gov.uk.

The Tsar is particularly focused on deals and business support schemes linked to the return to school (August / September), household bills as well as Christmas retail – and would love to work with companies on those milestones. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to join the initiative.

Please visit the current digital Help for Households hub pages here and here. You can also read more about the Help for Households partnerships work here.

How to get involved:

Cross-sector organisations of all sizes are welcome to consider joining the initiative. The requirements for participation are:

  • To share basic details of offers and promotions for us to amplify
  • Be open to a 1-2-1 meeting with David Buttress and his team about new opportunities that can be developed as part of Help for Households
  • Agree to use and promote the shared campaign branding on your social and digital channels (Help for Households)
