The Tudors: Passion, Power and Politics

Looking for something to do after work? Or maybe a meeting with a difference with clients?

Step back in time to the Tudor court and discover the politics, family ties and popular culture of the most famous royals in history at Walker Art Gallery.

The Tudors: Passion, Power and Politics exhibition presents the five Tudor monarchs, some of the most familiar figures from English history, instantly recognisable in the portraits that have preserved their likenesses for five hundred years.

Showcasing some of the most famous portraits in the National Portrait Gallery Collection, the exhibition also includes remarkable decoarative art pieces such as the Bristowe hat, believed to have been worn by Henry VIII and the Bacton Altar Cloth, though to be a rare survival of fabric from Elizabeth I’s wardrobe.

The exhibition is showing until 29 August. The café at the gallery serves delicious food, cakes and refreshments, so it’s an ideal place to continue your business conversations over a bite to eat or a coffee.
