Glenville Walker strengthens litigation team with appointment of Daniel Curtin as firm accelerates ambitious growth plans

Liverpool-based business law firm Glenville Walker has appointed Daniel Curtin as an Associate in its Commercial Litigation team, marking the next step in the firm’s ambitious growth strategy to scale to 50 staff by 2030.

Daniel joins from Greenhalgh Kerr, where he trained and qualified, building a strong reputation for handling complex, high-value disputes including commercial debt recovery and corporate insolvency. He brings hands-on advocacy experience and a calm, commercially minded approach to dispute resolution, having managed a substantial caseload and supported the training and supervision of junior fee earners.

His appointment broadens the strength of Glenville Walker’s growing Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, led by Partner Michael Smeaton, and supports increasing client demand for clear, practical advice when business disputes arise.

The move forms part of a wider, accelerated growth plan that will see Glenville Walker scale significantly over the next five years. The firm is actively recruiting at all levels across its core practice areas, with corporate and commercial property identified as priority areas for further senior hires in the coming months.

Hazel Walker, Chief Executive Officer at Glenville Walker, said: “Daniel is exactly the kind of lawyer we want at Glenville Walker. He is straight-talking, commercially astute and focussed on getting the right outcome for clients without losing sight of the bigger picture. That fits our culture perfectly.”

“We have set out clear, ambitious plans to grow the firm over the next five years and Daniel’s appointment is one of several strategic moves we are making to build the team we need to support that ambition. Our litigation practice has grown rapidly under Michael Smeaton and Anna Salisbury, and we are now scaling our corporate and commercial property teams in parallel.”

“We are unapologetically focussed on building a firm that owner-managed and high-growth businesses actively want to work with. That means investing in people who think commercially, communicate clearly and take genuine ownership of client outcomes.”

Daniel Curtin, Commercial Litigation Associate at Glenville Walker, added: “Glenville Walker has built a real reputation in the Northwest for cutting through the noise and getting deals and disputes resolved on commercial terms. That approach is what attracted me to the firm.”

“The litigation team is going through a genuinely exciting period of growth, and I am looking forward to broadening my experience across commercial disputes and contributing to the next chapter of the firm’s story.”

Glenville Walker advises owner-managed and high-growth businesses across the Northwest and nationally on corporate and commercial law, property and construction, employment, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. The firm is approaching its tenth anniversary and continues to build its team to meet sustained client demand.
