Liverpool-headquartered charity supports people across the country with a range of neurological conditions.
Liverpool Chamber has selected The Brain Charity as its Charity Partner of the Year.
Headquartered in Liverpool, The Brain Charity has been providing vital services and support to people with neurological conditions across the UK for more than 30 years.
The new partnership will allow the organisation to engage directly with Chamber members and raise funds at a range of events over the next 12 months, including the Liverpool Innovation & Impact Awards in October and Chamber’s Day at the Races during the Grand National Festival at Aintree in April.
It will also provide opportunities for Chamber members to expand their knowledge of neurodiversity and apply that learning within their own businesses.
Among the fundraising priorities for The Brain Charity is its Neuro Gym, a free accessible facility in Liverpool available to anyone affected by a neurological condition, supporting them in their journey to rehabilitation.
Matthew Meaney, CEO of the Brain Charity, said:
“When the opportunity arose to become Liverpool Chamber’s charity partner, we didn’t hesitate. We’re delighted to have been chosen and are really looking forward to working with the Chamber and its members over the next year.
“The Neuro Gym is an important part of our work, providing free access to specialist equipment for people living with neurological conditions who might otherwise face barriers because of cost or a lack of suitable facilities. For many people following a stroke, brain injury, or other neurological event, being able to build strength and confidence in a supportive environment can make a real difference to their recovery and wellbeing.
“It’s about much more than exercise, too. The Gym has become a real community hub, helping people connect with others, reduce isolation and regain confidence.
“We’re excited to introduce more Chamber members to our work, raise awareness of neurological conditions and neurodiversity, and, most importantly, raise vital funds to help us keep the Neuro Gym free for the people who need it.”
Paul Cherpeau, CEO of Liverpool Chamber, said:
“The Brain Charity is a fantastic organisation, anchored in Liverpool and making a real difference to lives across the country. Its reputation is already well-established, and we hope that through an expanded relationship with the Chamber we can help to amplify its message even further and help to raise vital funds along the way.
“Their core values around inclusion, skills development and providing opportunities for all resonate closely with our values at Liverpool Chamber and I’m confident this will prove to be a successful and fruitful partnership over the next year.”
