Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA has strengthened its financial reporting expertise with the appointment of a new Accounting and Business Advisory Manager at its Liverpool office.

Joe White, who is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and is Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)-qualified, joins MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, following seven years at a top ten accountancy firm where he delivered audited accounts services to UK clients.

His role will involve supporting clients with complex financial reporting needs, including the preparation of financial statements for large companies, complex groups and the requirements of those operating in sectors with additional reporting needs

Joe’s appointment both expands the offering to MHA’s larger corporate clients in Liverpool and the wider MHA UK group and also allows MHA to provide services to other audit firms, who may require input in the preparation of complex financial statements from an independent firm.

He will also contribute to a number of firm-wide initiatives designed to support MHA’s future growth.

Andrew Matthews, Corporate Partner and Head of MHA’s Liverpool office, said: “As MHA continues to grow in Liverpool, we will continue to invest in hiring specialists who can provide the very best support for our clients’ needs.

“Joe is an expert in understanding and delivering complex financial statements. His appointment will not only add to the high level of service we provide to our existing clients but also enable us to support new companies across the North West with specific complex reporting needs.”

The arrival of Joe is the latest step in the growth of MHA’s Liverpool office, having grown to a team of more than 50 multi-disciplinary staff across audit, advisory and both corporate and indirect taxes, since opening its first office within Exchange Station during 2022.

Joe White, Accounting and Business Advisory Manager, MHA said: “As a Liverpudlian, I’ve witnessed the expansion of MHA’s presence in the city over recent years and have been struck by the firm’s people-centric approach.

“The chance to join MHA provided a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s audited accounts team in the North West, making it an easy decision.”
