ADL Health & Safety has launched a new DSEAR Awareness & Risk Assessment Course, offering local businesses practical training on managing dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres in the workplace.
DSEAR applies to far more environments than many people realise, from flammable liquids and aerosols to gas installations, workshops, plant rooms, and battery‑charging areas. The new course is designed to help organisations understand when DSEAR applies, what their legal duties are, and how to carry out proportionate, defensible risk assessments.
Aimed at fire risk assessors, health & safety professionals, facilities managers, site managers, and duty holders, the course focuses on real‑world, low to medium‑risk scenarios rather than high‑hazard industrial settings. Delegates will learn how to identify dangerous substances, recognise ignition risks, and integrate DSEAR considerations into wider fire safety and compliance processes.
Unlike many awareness courses, this programme includes both a formal exam and a practical assessment, with successful delegates receiving an IFSM‑accredited certificate.
Delivered by experienced practitioners and aligned with UK legislation and HSE guidance, the course gives local businesses the confidence to manage DSEAR requirements effectively and make informed, proportionate decisions.
ADL Health & Safety continues to expand its training offering to support safer, compliant workplaces across the region. Businesses interested in upcoming course dates can contact the ADL team for more information.
