Seeded Wilflower Paper gets Kaleidoscope gardens off to a colourful start

Arup’s Liverpool office donates Seeded Wildflower Paper to support the new Community Resource Centre in Kensington

Global engineering, design and consultancy firm, Arup, is donating Wildflower Seeded Paper to the charity Autism Initiatives’ Kaleidoscope Resource Centre to help get their gardens off to a colourful start.

Kaleidoscope is Autism Initiatives first Community Resource Centre in Liverpool to open that supports those with Autism, their families and their carers. Opening just before Christmas last year, Kalidoscope sees the garden as an important focus for the charity as it provides a theraputic environment for those visiting the centre.

Hilary Hutt, Kaleidoscope Centre Manager, says: “Since moving in we’ve been working really hard getting the centre just right and it’s really coming together now. We’re all really keen now to get on with the gardens but of course funding is always a big problem, so we are doubly delighted to be given this wildflower seed paper by Arup – they will certainly bring a lovely splash of colour and start the gardens off beautifully.”

The seeded paper was originally used as stationary at the sustainability focussed event ‘Water for Life’ held by Arup. This paper will now be planted by Kaleidoscope to grow an area of meadow in their gardens, while also helping to reduce waste produced by the event.

Paul Grover, Associate Director, Arup commented: “Despite being a global firm, Arup is committed to making a difference locally. The Kaleidoscope centre does fantastic work in the locally community to support individuals with autism and we’re happy to play a small part in supporting this great cause.”
