In order to continue to be at the cutting edge of cancer treatment, Rutherford Health and Panthera Biopartners entered into a collaboration: Panthera@theRutherford. The combination of Panthera’s exceptional management of clinical trials with Rutherford’s state of the art cancer centres and leading oncological team will allow for larger scale, faster and more efficient cancer treatment trials in the UK.

To launch this partnership globally, a professional event was required. According to Jane Slinger-Brennan of Rutherford Health, “a webinar-style event was agreed but we wanted to make this event stand out as much as possible given the current climate and challenges faced holding events.”

With circumstances affecting the availability of many delegates, an approach that combined an in-person event with the wide reach of a webinar would require an experienced technological partner. Jane knew from a previous role whom to choose: “We have always received a high level of service from Fisher and know that they understand the needs of our event”

The Expertise of Fisher Audio Visual

Fisher Audio Visual have managed events for decades, consistently updating their equipment and approach to ensure they provided the perfect experience for hosts and audience alike every time.

In the wake of the current circumstances, Fisher took advantage of the new normal and offered a wide range of remote event services, from providing broadcast and streaming equipment to an all-in-one package from design to implementation and broadcast.

"Due to the current climate, we have invested heavily in remote broadcasting technology which allows us to put on events like Panthera@theRutherford." Bryan Fisher, Managing Director of Fisher Audio Visual commented.

The set up provided the atmosphere of an in-person event, with appropriate seating that manages to retain a safe distance whilst remaining in the shot. “We decided on a socially distanced panel-style discussion at Rutherford Cancer Centre North West facilitated by Stuart Young [CEO of Panthera]”

Fisher used a four-camera setup; a static camera for each presenter and a cameraman operating a fourth. They also used a studio-quality lighting set-up. With Fisher broadcasting and managing the event, their careful hand “allowed [Panthera@theRutherford] to concentrate on the content and deliver a professional-looking event.” according to Slinger-Brennan.

As well as this, Fisher’s expertise in broadcasting events ensured that the event was streamed across the world to Panthera delegates, who could watch and interact with the event anywhere. According to Jane, “The event went really well – exactly how we envisaged”

The successful launch event paved the way for research into innovative therapies and offer more opportunities to patients and access to life-saving cancer treatments.
