Kimpton and Asset Lifecycle Solutions were named Business of the Year in separate categories at the Innovation in Business Awards 2025, organised by Liverpool Chamber.
Asset Lifecycle Solutions, which supports businesses to recycle their old technology, won the award for businesses with fewer than 30 employees, while Kimpton, a specialist provider of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services and commercial fit-out projects, scooped the larger category for firms with more than 30 staff.
RS Clare, one of Liverpool’s oldest businesses and the UK’s longest-established lubricant manufacturer, with industry clients worldwide, was a fitting recipient of the special Chair’s Award.
Joloda Hydraroll, a leading provider of loading solutions based in Speke, scooped two awards – for Innovative Product or Service and Innovation in Global Excellence – at the awards ceremony, which was held in front of 400 guests at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
Colin Sinclair, chief executive of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool innovation district and its spin-out development company Sciontec, won the Leading The Future award, a special prize for this year’s awards to mark Liverpool Chamber’s 175th Anniversary.
Another special award, Liverpool Legacy, was given to Gregory Abrams, founder and chief executive of Gregory Abrams Davidson Solicitors and a leading figure in the regeneration of the Cavern Quarter.
A third special award was won by Hayley Smallman, corporate partnerships manager at Woodlands Hospice, who received the Trailblazer prize from judges.
Two future leaders were recognised with the One To Watch award, won by Alex Keyter from Generative MInds, and the Rising Star (Education Provider) award, given to Alfie Fitzsimmons of Alfie’s Squad.
Harker, an app which aims to tackle homelessness through the use of data, won the Innovation in Skills award, FR Fire Protection took home the Innovation in Technology award and The Bluecoat Arts Centre was recognised with the award for Innovation in Social Value.
The Innovation in Business Awards is headline sponsored by Lexus Liverpool and Frank Rogers Construction was associate sponsor of the event. MSP Global provided AV services for the ceremony.
The winners of each award category were selected by a panel of independent judges sourced from across the Liverpool City Region business community.
