Liverpool Chamber is relocating its headquarters to Bruntwood Works’ Cotton Exchange building.
The move reinforces the organisation’s drive to generate best return on investment for members and ensure maximum flexibility for the operational working of its team in light of the pandemic.
Bruntwood Works is also to become a Patron of the Chamber, allowing it to offer direct support to the Chamber’s private sector directive to support the Liverpool business ecosystem as it recovers from the pandemic.
The Grade II-listed Cotton Exchange is home to a thriving SME community and has a range of communal spaces for collaboration and events, such as The Old Hall and roof terrace. It recently became the first UK workspace to be installed with an edible wall of fresh salad leaves using high tech hydroponics technology.
The Chamber is celebrating its arrival at the building by hosting its first in-person Well Connected event for 16 months at the building today (Thursday 1 July). The monthly networking event has been running online throughout this time.
Speakers include Heather Gray from Bruntwood Works, Claire Kelly at Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, Neil Thompson from Avrenim Energy and Diane Cotton at Oxford Professional Educational Group.
Joining the Bruntwood Works community will also offer the Chamber access to wider facilities such as the restaurant-led ground floor Pioneer development at The Plaza, due for completion this Summer.
Moving into the ground floor at the building, Liverpool Chamber will be working closely with Bruntwood Works to focus on sustainability, networking and cost efficiency for its members.
Continuing to represent the interests of more than 700 businesses in the city region, from start-ups to multi-nationals across every sector, Liverpool Chamber’s move also sees them join the Bruntwood Works community providing the ability to work with more SMEs across the region and host a range of events in Bruntwood Works’ event spaces, from the Old Hall to the newly developed ground floor of The Plaza.
Paul Cherpeau, chief executive of Liverpool Chamber, said:
“This office moves Liverpool Chamber into the beating heart of the city’s commercial district and highlights our desire to be more flexible and cost efficient for our members. The move also demonstrates our growth, strength and commitment to the city region business community, that we are here to champion and support them and, during these uncertain times, this is needed more than ever.
“The Cotton Exchange is a fantastic space for us to enter and we are keen to grow our new relationship with Bruntwood Works and its eclectic community, sharing collaborative ideas that will benefit our members and the Liverpool City Region as a whole.”
Colin Forshaw, regional director at Bruntwood Works, said:
“We are excited to welcome the Liverpool Chamber to the Cotton Exchange, an organisation which shares our commitment to sustainability and wellbeing in the workplace. The Chamber has a principal role to play in helping the Liverpool City Region to emerge successfully from the pandemic and we are looking forward to working with them on this.“The Cotton Exchange is a vibrant hub for ambitious, dynamic businesses. As such, it is an ideal home for an organisation with a mandate such as the Chamber and we are confident its new contemporary ground floor space will provide an excellent platform to achieve its objectives over the coming years.”
