New job opportunity for Chair of the Board of Trustees

Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre are looking for a new Chair for their Board of Trustees. They are particularly interested in Expressions of Interest from individuals with specialist knowledge and professional experience in leading an organisation and chairing meetings.

Term: Initially a 3 year term, renewable for a further 3 years. The position is not remunerated, however expenses will be paid as appropriate. An induction programme will be available and relevant training will be given.

It is estimated that the Chair of the Board of Trustees will be required to spend an average of 1 day per month supporting the charity.

There are four meetings of the full Board of Trustees each year with four additional sub-committee meetings per year. Board members are invited to attend opening nights of all theatre productions but these are social events and not obligatory. Generally there are 7 new main house shows per year.

The Chair will also be required to represent the charity from time to time at meetings with funders and stakeholders but these meetings are infrequent. The chair will also be responsible for line-managing the CEO and will hold regular meetings with the CEO to discuss the progress of the organisation.
