Liverpool Hope University, in partnership with Tate Liverpool and dot-art Liverpool, are inviting expressions of interest for Breaking Through Borders – an online exhibition of work by migrant artists living and working in the Northwest.
This collaborative project aims to bring together refugee, asylum seeker and migrant visual artists, who have settled in the UK over the last few years and have an interest in creating art.
The project will involve taking part in a one-day workshop at Tate Liverpool, on Saturday 12th November 2022, at which participants will engage with historical aspects of migration in Tate’s collection. Artists will then have a few months to make their work relating to the theme – Breaking Through Borders.
The project finishes with an online exhibition, presented by dot-art Liverpool. The exhibition preview is planned as a celebratory community event during Liverpool Hope University’s Angel Field Festival in March 2023.
The event will bring together a variety of local groups at the University’s Creative Campus.
Breaking Through Borders will also be included in the Being Human Festival 2022 events programme.
