Liverpool Chamber toasts record-breaking awards response

This year’s Innovation in Business Awards, organised by Liverpool Chamber, has received a record number of votes and ticket sales and is now completely sold out.

More than 15,000 votes have so far been cast by over 2,000 business people across Liverpool and Sefton, while demand for table bookings and sponsorships has also exceeded previous records, with over 450 guests already signed up for the sold-out awards ceremony.

This year’s event will take place for the first time at World Museum on Thursday 17 November and will be hosted by Ngunan Adamu from BBC Radio Merseyside and The Guide’s Jay Hynd. Guests can also enjoy an official after-show event at DWNTWN on Harrington Street.

Four new award categories have been added for 2022, including Customer Excellence, New Business and two new Responsible Business awards for Social & Governance and Environment. Liverpool Chamber patron Blok ‘N’ Mesh is the headline sponsor of this year’s awards and will also present a special Chair’s Award on the night.

World Museum is the oldest of the museums and galleries in Liverpool, opening in 1853, just three years after the creation of Liverpool Chamber. It has expanded to become one of the great museums of the British regions and has recently entered into a new strategic partnership with the Chamber.

Paul Cherpeau, chief executive of Liverpool Chamber, said:

“The Innovation in Business Awards is a chance to join together to celebrate those local businesses and individuals who have driven successful innovation and growth over the past year.

“There has been huge interest among members and the wider business community and that is reflected in the record-breaking number of votes and ticket sales we’ve experienced thus far. Indeed, we had so many firms approach us to sponsor the event, the allocation was sold out within the first week.

“Our team is working hard to ensure it will be a very special night in the incredible surroundings of World Museum, itself a world leader in preserving history and celebrating innovation.”
